#TOTD of January 25th: Satellite Call by Sara Bareilles

For fans of: Ingrid Michaelson, Parachute, He Is We

With the 56th Grammy Awards waiting in the wings, I wanted to feature a Grammy nominated artist for today’s TOTD. It took all I had not to feature Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, or Justin Timberlake. I fought against that urge because I want to try to continuously feature new artists with each TOTD. That may change in the next few days if Taylor does end up performing “All Too Well” at the awards (because I will DIE of happiness), though, so beware.

With that said, today’s tune is “Satellite Call” by Sara Bareilles. Sara has been nominated for 2 Grammys this year and I’m crossing my fingers that this talented girl will go home with her first golden gramaphone. I think this song should serve as an uplifting reminder for anyone who’s unsure or unhappy. If you don’t have anyone to talk to, a least there’s always music, right?

This one’s for the lonely child
          Brokenhearted, running wild
This was written for the one to blame
One who believe they are the cause of chaos and everything

You may find yourself in the dead of night
Lost somewhere up in the great big beautiful sky
You were all just perfect little satellites
Spinning round and round this broken earthly life

This is so you’ll know the sound
Of someone who loves you from the ground
Tonight you’re not alone at all
This is me sending out my satellite call

This is so you’ll know the sound
Of someone who loves you from the ground
Tonight you’re not alone at all
This is me sending out my satellite call
